Edgar is truly a dedicated and rare find.

Finally, after 4 years of dealing with incompetent air conditioner repairmen I have found a truly knowledgeable technician in Edgar Mejia, owner of Nu-Air Air Conditioning Repair. From the very first season I had the 5-ton Rudd unit installed I have been dealing with seasonal issues. In the summer the unit would require a dose of Freon to in order to moderately keep the house cool. In winter the unit would heat the house to the desired setting, the heat pump would shut down, the fan, designed to purge any remaining warm air, would continue to run and run and run, until finally it was blowing cold air which dropped the temperature so that the heat pump would reengage. This never-ending cycle that could only be stopped by lowering the thermostat setting until house temperature was so low that a jacket was required. Previous repairmen diagnosed the low Freon as a system leak that they never found but were happy to provide a shot of Freon to the tune of about 300 dollars. As to the fan cycling problem, I questioned previous repairmen if there was not a program setting that could be adjusted so as to decrease the fan cycle time; the answer was always negative. On his first visit Edgar found the Freon leak, obtained the needed parts under warranty and made the repairs. To define the fan cycle problem, we had to wait on a cool spell but Edgar returned as soon as one hit, got on line, found the program to reset the thermostat and installed the needed program change. This correction was so effective that my electricity bill was cut in half from its historical high for that month. In today?s world of part changers and unskilled repairmen Edgar is truly a dedicated and rare find. I almost hate to praise him so highly because it will result in more customers requiring his service but his repair knowledge and work ethic would have resulted in that anyway.

If there were more stars, I would give them. Edgar and his assistant worked from 9:00 in the morning until 5:00 in the New Orleans heat to get my OLD unit working like it was new. They did an excellent job and were so courteous. AND, not only cleaned up there mess, but made sure the floor was swept better than I could do. I would DEFINITELY recommend them to anyone.

I would highly recommend Nu-Air! Called them on a Sunday morning when our A/C stopped working and thankfully Edgar came to check out it out. He had the part to us the next morning by 10am. He and Diego worked quickly to get our AC back up and running. They were very polite, respectful and professional! I have learned my lesson, forget the expensive home warranty (that came with the sale of the house) that in the end does not pay for itself. Instead, set up yearly maintenance with Nu-Air at 1/2 the cost of the warranty and catch any issues ahead of time. Thank you Edgar and Diego!!

Extremely knowledgeable, professional and very honest!

I spoke to Edgar on Wednesday a.m. , explained we were told we needed a new HVAC system. I felt a second opinion was needed. Edgar scheduled to meet that afternoon. After checking the system, he immediately told us the furnace was very good and did not need replacing, he expected it would survive at least another 10 years. He explained a/c problems and they could be repaired with parts . Due to cost of replacement parts and age of unit, we felt it prudent to replace instead of repair. We discussed the brands we were interested in. Edgar had tremendous knowledge on each brand and was thorough in his explanation of each. He didn't try to rush us through our questions. Later that evening he sent quotes on the four we spoke about. The prices were very fair. His crews were booked through mid part of following week. During our initial conversation, I mentioned we had out of town guest coming for the weekend. He was concerned and said he would come by Friday evening or Saturday a.m. to add Freon to get us through the weekend. Thursday evening Edgar called to say he had our parts and he would install Friday morning! We were very happy and impressed that he was concerned for our comfort and weekend company. Edgar completed the job mid afternoon. He left the house immaculate and the house is cool again! He is truly a professional and a great guy. Very happy we found Edgar and we highly recommend Nu-Air!

Edgar, the owner, came out originally to diagnose one of my A/C units not working. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a damaged circuit board, which he was able to retrieve from his supplier and replace within a couple of hours. However, while examining the unit, he found that the evaporator coil was leaking. He recommended replacing it, and said he could come out in a couple of days to do that job. In the quote he provided, he included a free charge of freon to the system to get through the next couple of days as long as we used him to replace the coil. In the meantime, I checked pricing from another HVAC company, and it was slightly less than Edgar's quote. Edgar showed up with an assistant on Thursday morning as promised and had the new coil in within about 3 hours. I was very pleased with the work and professionalism.
