Why this short video matters to us
We created this video to give our neighbors a look at the “why” behind our name and our work. It explains how everyday school activities, personal loss, and local events came together to form a long-term commitment to the community we call home.

A personal story that became a promise
Our community work did not start with a big campaign. It started in the most ordinary way: with kids’ activities and school involvement. As we share in the video:
“It started off really with finding ways that would loop back around. You know, the kids were in piano or football or robotics. I was president on all the little kiddy boards.”
From piano recitals to football games and robotics meets, we looked for ways to support the same programs our own kids enjoyed. That meant volunteering, helping with school events, and saying “yes” when local groups needed a hand.
Then the story takes a more personal turn. In the video, we talk about a loss that still shapes how we see our role in this community:
“As time went on, my mom died when I was 12 of cancer. And so there’s obviously so many opportunities to give back in that regard.”
That experience created a deep connection to families facing cancer today. It turned simple involvement into a lasting promise to support people who walk a similar road.

“Several charitable organizations… have reached out to us, and we’ve been able to facilitate, you know, anything from bands to banners to auctions. And it truly has been extremely fulfilling every year.”

Standing with local women facing breast cancer
Because of that early loss to cancer, support for women going through breast cancer holds a special place in our hearts. In the video, we highlight one event in particular:
“Nu-Air Heating and Cooling sponsors Pink with a Purpose, which is a breast cancer event for women suffering from breast cancer. And the money goes directly to local women who need the help while they’re going through breast cancer.”
We support Pink with a Purpose because it keeps help close to home. Funds raised go directly to women in our area who need support during treatment. When you watch the video, we hope you can sense how much that direct local impact means to us.
Honoring a young life and fueling research
The video also shares another cause that touched us deeply: Kelly Kickin’ Cancer. This effort honors a young girl who passed away from brain cancer and supports research in her memory. As we explain:
“They sponsor Kelly Kick and Cancer, which is a nonprofit for a family. After a young girl passed away with brain cancer, they raised funds for research so that maybe one day the terrible loss that they felt doesn’t happen to others.”
That hope — that other families might be spared the same hurt — drives our decision to stand behind this nonprofit. It reflects a belief that even a small local company can help fuel progress when it joins with others who care.
Rooted in schools, kids, and everyday community life
Not every cause we support ties directly to cancer. Much of our involvement lives in the everyday life of our area: schools, teams, and local events that bring families together. The video closes with a simple truth that guides us:
“We like to give back. To be able to support local charities and local things that we do in the community. It’s a great feeling and we try to support the schools that kids go to and different events that support different causes.”
